1. Meet Lightfoot: Specs and Basics

Here’s what makes Lightfoot tick (and shine):

  • Battery: 52V, 1.5kWh UL2722 approved Lithium Ion battery with 45 miles of range 
  • Motors: Dual 750W brushless DC motors for 90Nm of torque—hills, consider yourselves conquered.
  • Storage: 1.5 cubic feet of lockable, weatherproof cargo space (that’s three grocery bags, a helmet, or your favorite snacks).
  • Top Speed: 19.9 MPH.
  • Weight Limit: Max gross weight of 419 lbs (190 kg), with room for you and a passenger.

2. Getting Ready to Ride

Before You Start

  1. Unboxing: Your Lightfoot should be ready-to-ride out of the box, but comes with a lot of packaging to protect it during the journey to you.  While you can unpackage it alone, having another person assist will make the process more efficient.  Visually inspect your Lightfoot for signs of any damage; take a picture and let us know if there are any significant issues.  Once you get it out of the box, find the kickstand by feeling for it with your foot and applying downward forward pressure, keeping foot braced behind it while pulling back on the Lightfoot with moderate force.  It should click into place.  To release the kickstand, simply push the scooter forward and give the kickstand a tap up with your foot to ensure it is seated on the underside.  If you have room to store the packaging, save it until you are sure the scooter is fully functional and meets your expectations.   
  2. Turn on the Battery. Your LightFoot was shipped with the battery off. You will need to turn it on, otherwise it won’t move. Your keys to the cargo compartment are located in the cargo bay, taped to the front bulkhead. We record the number of your keys but for extra protection please take a photo of the numbers in case of loss.  To access the power switch you will need to open the cargo compartment, look for the black rubber plug in the left rear of the cargo floor (under the rubber mat) and remove the plug. You will see the battery, on the battery is a button switch. Depress the button switch completely to turn on the battery. Once you see the blue light indicating the battery is on, replace the rubber plug and cargo floor mat. Remove the keys from the storage compartment and put them in a place where you will not forget or lose them.
  3. Charge Up: Your Lightfoot ships at about 30% charge. Park in the sun for solar charging or plug into a standard outlet. Lightfoot charges to 80% in just 90 minutes when plugged into a standard outlet, so you won’t need to wait long.
  4. Check the Tires: They might have deflated slightly during shipping.  A quick squeeze to test firmness is recommended; if they don’t feel firm, put some air in them up to 36 PSI.
  5. Turn Lightfoot On: Hold the On/Off button (upper righthand) on the left handlebar remote pad for for three seconds.  The Display will activate. It will show a screen with a security code selector on it. The default code is 1234. To enter the code use the “light” button on the left hand remote to move to left to right across the numbers. “1234” is the default selection. Once you have  moved from left to right across all the numbers, the scooter will turn on. If you want to change the default code, please refer to the full manual. 
  6. Helmet On: Safety first!
  7. Twist and Go: The throttle on the right handlebar is intuitive, with smooth acceleration and quick response.  Twist back towards you and go! LightFoot has a battery charging feature known as regenerative braking. This means that when the throttle is off, you will feel the scooter slow down without braking. The electric hub motors are using the forward motion of the scooter to generate electricity to recharge the battery and at the same time slowing down the scooter.

8. Maintenance and Care

  • Battery: Charge it regularly, whether by sun or plug-in.  To extend battery life, keeping it charged between 20-80% is recommended, though an occasional charge to 100% is ok when required.
  • Tires: Check pressure monthly to 36PSI.
  • Brakes: Test often—safety first.

  1. Do I need a license or registration? No! Lightfoot is classified as an e-scooter in the U.S.
  2. How fast does it go? Lightfoot zips up to 19.9 MPH.
  3. Is Lightfoot safe for bike lanes? Yes, it’s designed for bike lanes and city streets (but not highways).
  4. How far can it go? 45 miles per charge, plus up to 18 miles/day with solar charging.
  5. What’s the age requirement? Riders must be 16 or older.
  6. Can it handle hills? Absolutely. Lightfoot’s 90Nm torque conquers steep grades with ease.
  7. Is it waterproof? While no EV is completely waterproof, Lightfoot’s design keeps water out and electronics dry, however do not ride through any open water or for extended periods in heavy downpours.
  8. How much can it carry? The max gross weight limit for Lightfoot is 190 KG (418Lbs). Lightfoot weighs @ 60KG (132Lbs). This means rider + cargo should not exceed 130KG (286 lbs). Cargo should not exceed 33 pounds
